I FEEL GUILTY

Although it is not often mentioned in our culture today, the topic of guilt is incredibly important to talk about. Every single person has experienced or carried guilt in their lives. We have all done things we’re not proud of, leaving us feeling empty and burdened by regret. I’ve had plenty of moments where I’ve felt guilty about my actions, especially towards other people. It caused me to become isolated from others and believe that I was worth much less because of my shame. Slowly though, I began to see that this was incredibly far from the truth.

What we don’t often realise is that guilt shouldn’t be carried all by ourselves. The truth is that we can’t fix the problem on our own. We need others to help, whether that be family, friends, or other trusted people. We can journey with others in order for us to get back to a place of freedom and joy, rather than a place of guilt and shame. Once I started talking to people and being open about my struggles, I was able to have burdens released in my life and fill the guilty hole that had been in my heart. That same freedom is offered to you as well. No matter the level of guilt you may feel, there is always hope and redemption that can be found.
