Youth Mentoring & Leadership

The best part of a youth programme is the underlying support of youth mentoring and leadership. We’re not talking about youth workers, it’s the peer-to-peer relationships where positive youths look after each other. Older members tend to look after the newbies and adopt them into the social setting so everyone feels comfortable as quickly as possible. Teens can have tough times, so those who are in a good place provide a shoulder, they listen, and they encourage.

FAQs about Dunedin & Otago Youth Activities

How often do youth groups get involved in community projects?

As part of youth development, most organisations for young people that are led with Christian values adopt a culture of giving back. This means volunteering to giving service to those in need is an essential part of the education within a youth group. How often these community development tasks occur is at the discretion of each group, but the values are definitely ingrained.
