Struck Blind on Cyprus
During Paul and Barnabas’s first missionary journey, a Jewish sorcerer named Elymas (also called Bar-Jesus) tried to turn a Roman official away from the faith. Paul confronted him directly, and Elymas was struck blind on the spot. The story is told in Acts 13:6–12.

Elymas was attached to the Roman proconsul Sergius Paulus and actively worked to keep him from listening to Paul’s message. Paul, filled with the Holy Spirit, called him out publicly and pronounced that he would be blind “for a time.” The sudden judgment wasn’t just personal — it convinced Sergius Paulus, who witnessed it, to believe. It’s one of the few miracles in Acts that’s a judgment rather than a healing.
