We’re a Christian organisation growing awareness and distributing Bibles for free, throughout New Zealand. We’re distributing 922 Bibles per month throughout New Zealand, and it costs us $12.64 per bible to send – That’s approximately $11,654 per month. With your help, we can do more. - We use Christian values as a method of guidance. Many young people find themselves confronted with temptation in areas such as drug abuse. Education and peer to peer support helps prevent this.
- We help small, grass-roots Christian events be found through an online platform that we fund with marketing.

In New Zealand, Christianity is facing a generational challenge: the latest census shows that young people aged 15–24 are far more likely to say they have no religion than to identify as Christian, with non-religious youth outnumbering Christians by more than two to one. Church surveys reveal that while many young people who do attend are growing in their faith, congregations are ageing and struggling to attract and retain younger members. At Walking on Water, we see this as both a challenge and an opportunity to turn the tables and hang onto New Zealand traditions. Our mission is to reverse this trend by creating pathways for teens to discover faith, connect with supportive communities, and find purpose beyond the pressures of drugs, crime, and despair. We want to grow Christianity in the next generation – not just as a label on a census form, but as a lived reality of hope, belonging, and transformation. Over 10,000 free bibles being distributed for free, is a very good start, but we need your help.
