Fuse Youth Centre – Wednesday
Every Wednesday & Friday our doors open in the Sumner Community Centre and we provide a fun, interactive space for rangatahi to hangout, play games and feel encouraged.
Lightswitch
Lightswitch is an initiative to provide free counselling for children aged 5 – 18 in the Sumner-Redcliffs community. It was started by Sumner-Redcliffs Anglican Church in July 2020, when it became apparent that there was a need to help local children and young people who were struggling with their mental health.
Since then Hazel has been counselling at Te Raekura Redcliffs School one day a week. We have recently been able to place another counsellor (Olivia from Headups wellbeing) at Sumner School and hope to continue that service, if funding allows.
The project is now under the management of Shoreline Youth Trust.
Details:
Wednesday 3:00 – 5:00pm
Upstairs in Matuku Takotako (Sumner Community Centre)
These are free sessions and as such we do not have “SIGN IN OR OUT” policies for the above. These sessions are supervised by 2-4 adults but we can not accept responsibility for young person once they leave the premises.
Shoreline Youth Trust
Shoreline Youth Trust is a non-profit organisation set up over 22 years ago to provide community services for the young people living in the Sumner, Redcliffs, and Mt Pleasant areas of Christchurch, New Zealand.
