Noah.
Noah Built the Ark
Noah was instructed by God to build a massive wooden ark to save his family and pairs of every kind of animal from a coming flood, as judgment on a corrupt world. The instructions and construction are described in Genesis 6.
Who built the ark?
👉 Noah.
Building for a hundred years
According to the timeline in Genesis, Noah may have spent around a century building the ark before the flood came — a long obedience with no visible sign of rain to justify it. The ark itself was enormous: roughly 450 feet long by biblical-cubit measurements, built specifically to float rather than to sail, since its purpose was survival, not travel. Genesis describes Noah as “righteous” and “blameless among the people of his time,” the reason he alone was chosen to be saved.
